The engine is capable of generating a range of power outputs, depending on the specific application.

In its standard configuration, the KTA19 can produce anywhere from 425 horsepower (317 kW) to 700 horsepower (522 kW). It also offers a peak torque of up to 2,635 lb-ft (3,571 Nm), making it suitable for heavy-duty tasks.

The KTA19 features a robust and durable construction, with a cast iron cylinder block and cylinder heads. This design ensures excellent heat dissipation and structural integrity, even under high operating temperatures and pressures. The engine is engineered to withstand harsh environments and prolonged use, making it suitable for continuous operation.

The fuel system of the KTA19 incorporates Cummins' advanced PT (Pressure-Time) fuel injection technology. This system optimizes fuel delivery and injection timing, resulting in improved combustion efficiency and reduced emissions. It also enables precise control over fuel flow, allowing the engine to adapt to varying load demands effectively.

To ensure reliable starting and operation, the KTA19 is equipped with a reliable electrical system, including a 24-volt starter motor and alternator. The engine features an efficient cooling system, utilizing a belt-driven fan and a thermostatically controlled water pump. This system prevents overheating and ensures consistent performance under varying ambient temperatures.

The KTA19 complies with various emission standards, including EPA Tier 2 and IMO Tier II.

It incorporates advanced technologies such as an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system, a crankcase ventilation system, and an integrated engine control module (ECM). These features help to minimize the engine's environmental impact and ensure compliance with stringent regulations.
